Nunavik in Figures 2025

The Nunavik in Figures 2025 is now available. This publication aims to disseminate as widely as possible key statistical data on Quebec's northernmost region, such as population, employment, education, income, prices, housing, and health. For this third edition, a youth profile and an elders profile have been added to the content. The booklet is published in English-Inuktitut and French-Inuktitut. The complete sources used to produce the statistical tables and graphs are available in a separate document, available in French or English.

ANNUAL FINANCIAL REPORTS

The Kativik Regional Government's annual financial reports for 2021, 2022 and 2023 are now available in Nunivaat. The reports and the detailed tables contained in these reports can be consulted in the "Public Finance" section of our website. The section also contains all annual financial reports since 2005.

Housing needs study

The Nunavik Housing Bureau recently published the report entitled: Housing needs study in Nunavik. The NHB had commissioned Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton to produce a portrait of social housing in Nunavik. Since 2013, a longitudinal study has been regularly conducted by the NHB, in 2013, 2017, 2019 and 2021. The objective of the study is to measure the adequacy between supply and demand for social housing. This survey, similar to a census, covers the entire population residing in social housing in the fourteen communities of Nunavik, in addition to some private dwellings.

Population Decree 2025

The Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l'Habitation du Québec (MAMH) released the 2025 Population Decree for the Northern villages. This data is the reference for the application of laws and regulations as well as for the management of government programs. The data can be viewed here.

Nunivaat Research Program
The Nunivaat Research Program is devoted to the development of knowledge through statistical tools and researches, in order to support public decision in Nunavik. It includes the design and the execution of special statistical surveys, and the preparation of statistical reports.
About the program

Nunivaat is a major initiative of the Louis-Edmond-Hamelin Chair affiliated with the University of the Arctic. The core financial contribution to the Nunivaat databank and the Nunivaat Research Program comes from the Kativik Regional Government.
